Stirling - The historic capir journey takes us to the medieval town of Stirling and one of the grandest castles in Scotland. Commanding magnificent views of its countryside Stirling Castle has witnessed some important battles over the centuries including “The Battle of Stirling Bridge” and “The Battle of Bannockburn”. Leaving the castle, take a stroll around the old town and its many historic buildings. A must visit is Argyll’s Lodging, a fine example of a 17th century townhouse. After lunch we leave the old town of Stirling and head for the Falkirk Wheel. An amazing feat of modern engineering of the 21st century the wheel connects the Forth and Clyde Canal and the Union Canal .There is a visitor centre with a fantastic viewpoint from which to see the Falkirk Wheel in action. From Falkirk we travel back to your accomodation.
