We head to Culzean Castle and Country Park via Electric Brae known locally as Croy Bay. Electric brae is an optical illusion where we can pull into the layby which is downhill and watch your car roll uphill.

The castle dates back to 1770-1790 and was the former home of Marquess of Ailsa. General Dwight Eisenhower was given an apartment at the top of the castle in recognition of his role as supreme commander of the allied forces in Europe during WWII. We then head back to Alloway, birth place of Burns, where we stop for lunch. Afterwards we stroll around Alloway and visit Burns’ cottage where he was born.
